Helping with flowers and jazz!

Happy Monday!

Well, Fall has definitely arrived!  Can you feel it?  It's that little nip in the air when you wake up.  Any day now we will see the leaves changing colors!

With the beginning of fall, things around us seem to start moving faster!  Last week was a busy one.

We were so fortunate to help with a wonderful cause!

The Alzheimer's Association was busy preparing for their walk this past Sunday.  So, we headed over to lend a hand.
We made some windmill-type flowers, assembled packets, and so much more.

This is such an important cause!  If you are looking for something to support, I cannot emphasize enough the important work they are doing.  As someone who has personally lost a loved one to this terrible disease, it is so encouraging to see how passionate and dedicated these people are to putting an end to Alzheimer's!

To see how you can help, go and check out their website at www.alz.org

This was not all we did last week, remember I mentioned how busy we were!

As I have mentioned previously, we love getting to visit a variety of facilities in the area to help with activities.  We were able to visit 2 facilities last week, in addition to helping the Alzheimer's Association.

The first was Omaha Nursing and Rehab, where we helped with Bingo!  What a fun time that was!  We had a great time and enjoyed giving out some fall themed prizes.

The second was Life Care Center of Omaha.  They host a really cool event for their residents once per month, called "Friday Night Jazz."  They invite residents and their families to sit out on the patio, where they have live music and ice cream!

This was such a fun and unique way to show their residents a good time.  You could see on their faces that they really enjoyed it.  A few even showed us some dance moves!

Do you have an event you need help with?  Give us a call!

Always a Celebration!

All of us here at Prestige Premium Homecare love a celebration!

Life is too short to focus on anything other than the positive, so that is what we choose to do!

Last week was amazing.  Really, we were so thrilled to see everything that was going on!
In case you didn't know, it was National Assisted Living Week.  A time set aside to show our gratitude and respect for the hardworking individuals who help take care of our aging friends and loved ones.

It's never easy to make that choice.  As a family member, the last thing you ever want to do is say that you had to "put mom somewhere." Instead, when that is your best option, you choose to move "mom" into an Assisted Living or other specialty facility.  A place that will not only meet her needs, but care for her the way you would.  A place filled with people who love to take care of seniors.

We have discovered so many of these wonderful facilities here in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area.  The people are simply outstanding.  It is clear that every one of them puts their whole heart into making each day special for their residents.

We decided to show them how much we appreciate them!  So, we filled some gift bags with goodies (read: candy) and a note.  Then, we drove all over Omaha and Council Bluffs, delivering to as many places as we could!  We did not get to all of them, it would take an army, but we were able to get out to quite a few.

What a blessing to see the reaction of these folks when we approached them and said we just wanted to give them a gift.
No strings attached.
No sales pitch.
Just a "Thank You."

Their faces lit up!  Everyone loves to be told "Thank You" and everyone loves to be celebrated.

This week is going to be busy as well.  We have lots of great things coming up.  You should stay tuned, we will be telling you all about it!

For starters, did you know it is National Dog Week?
We love our little fur-babies, so for now we will leave you with some photos of them!

Meet Dixie Belle.

And this is Ginger.

Happy National Dog Week!!!

Welcome!

We are so excited to be adding a blog to our website!

At Prestige Premium Homecare we strive to bring you the most current information about us, about the things that matter to you in your life, and what is going on with the community!

We will be posting articles, current information, and let you know about events that are going on around the area!

Hopefully you will find this to be a valuable source.

So, to start off, let me give you some news from the office.  We have met repeatedly and talked over many topics.  Most importantly, we discussed ways to "pay it forward".

We are currently looking for a staff of volunteers, as we strive to give back to our community.
We have been making contact with area facilities over the last several weeks.

What are we doing, you may be wondering?

We all decided that we have been so blessed, we want to give back to our community.

So, we have decided to spend some time in a variety of facilities, helping them in any way we can, whether it is Assisted Living, Nursing Home, etc.
For some places, this could mean an extra hand to help transport residents
during planned activities.

For others, they may ask us to come in and call Bingo or play a round of "Name That Tune" trivia!
Whatever it is, we want to help!

In order to do that, we would love to have a team of fun and compassionate individuals to go along.  Life is just more fun in a group!

Whether you can spend an hour a week, or an hour each month, imagine the joy you could bring to someone's life.

Sound like fun? (Hint: The answer here is Yes!)
Give us a call or send us an email!  We would be so happy to talk to you about it!

Are you an Activities Director for a facility in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area?
If so, we would love to hear from you also.  Seriously, let us know if we can be of service. There are no silly questions!  Need someone to pass out popcorn? Fold flyers?  Maybe scoop ice cream at your next social?
